Stop smoking! How acupuncture can help

As an ex-smoker of 10+ a day (do you like the plus … do we ever want to count how many we smoke?) I’m aware of the compulsive desire for a cigarette. The art to kicking the habit is more than will power, it’s to arrive at a place of freedom where the desire isn’t suppressed, it’s just not there!

What method works is different for different people. The first three months are often the worst. Overcoming the chemical addiction in the first week or so, then more challenging, the remaining mental or habitual addiction.

I use ear acupuncture, five tiny pins in each ear. The protocol stems from New York’s Lincoln Hospital in the 70’s, originally for drug users but extended to tobacco and alcohol. It is now used extensively, worldwide. It helps reduce the anxiety that can drive smoking, and also reduces the nicotine addiction.

I also use EFT, tapping on acupuncture points while focussing on just how much you want a cigarette. Within a short time the desire for a cigarette will simply disappear. The EFT technique will be taught to you so you can use it whenever the desire hits. It sounds too simple to be true … but it is that effective. (You may have seen this technique used by Paul McKenna).

The programme is for two weeks. It involves two, two-hour treatments each week. The cost is £480.

Group sessions are possible.
